Library Kaisa-Talo
Kaisa-Talo is the largest academic library in Finland which provides with new information more than 1.9 million people a year.
Located in the historical center of the city, library building organically fitted into the surrounding buildings. Architects from Anttinen Oiva Architects bureau focused on a brick building with huge area of glazing.
In 2012 Kaisa-Talo received the title Best Architectural Project with large glazing area and became the winner of the annual award of the Helsinki Construction Committee.
Kaisa-Talo is an example of successful using Pilkington glass in modern architecture. The library’s glazing includes high selective Pilkington Suncool® 66/33 and 70/35 Pro T, low-e glass Pilkington Optitherm® S3 and low-iron glass Pilkington Optiwhite®.
